Need a GM please-lost account

Good evening,

Okay so it's been nearly 3 weeks since I last logged onto the forums or in game so I started to get that itch to play again. Plus things have slowed down at work so I've now got more free time. Unfortunately for whatever reason the client nor the forums recognised my account name or password. At first I thought I forgot my password so attempted to reset it. No luck. I then managed to create a BRAND NEW account using the exact same email and user name.
Three questions;

Was my account removed due to inactivity?
What happened to my characters?
Can you help or am I destined to dedicate the next 3 months of my life getting to 60 all over again?

How do you expect GM's to help you when you don't post the name of the account?

Accounts are not removed due to inactivity, so first reason can be ruled out.
My best guess is you typed your password wrong a number of times, and was then banned - I don't know if that is an IP ban, and therefore prevent you logging in with other accounts as well, but that could explain it.

If at one point you ever logged into the game successfully, created a character, and started playing, inside your "World of Warcraft Classic" folder there's a folder labeled "WTF." Open your WTF folder and there should be another folder labeled "Account." Inside this Account folder is a list of all the accounts that ever logged in on your computer.

Neither accounts nor characters are removed/deleted from the server; they are retained for research/security purposes per the staff.

As far as I know, you are able to reuse the same e-mail to register an account with as e-mail confirmation is not required.

If your WoW folder still exists on you computer as it did when you were playing months ago, refer to Arev's post or read the sticky thread that explains how to locate your account name in your WoW folder.
