My experience is a little different from what you describe. I've seen GM's act on reports made to expose players who were grossly abusing game mechanics, and have the situation dealt with, though most of these were with obvious bots which I noticed being swiftly teleported to the famous GM Island.

I hope you'll continue holding onto hope for a little longer, and use the ingame report feature to better our community!

Schadenfreude. Some derive pleasure from someone else's anger over an unfortunate situation. If they feel compelled enough to argue or insult the player, they're actually feeding into that person and encouraging them to continue their behavior. Other than that, most people know it's an empty threat from an anonymous source over the internet that they'll never see or meet in real life; take it with a grain of salt.

Not at all comparable. A patron in a place of business insulting you in your physical presence is different from an anonymous avatar in an online game insulting you from across the world. The former is taken far more seriously than the other.

According to the latest infographic, the staff averages up to 1,000 player-submitted tickets per week. That doesn't spell out "bored" in my opinion. Everything is defined by the Terms of Use. If you submit a ticket regarding a perceived problem, it needs to be something that's within of the scope of what the staff is permitted to assist with; not every ticket submitted is guaranteed a resolution in your favor.

As I posted in your other thread, you're not helpless. /ignore exists and the addon SpamThrottle exists. Making good use of these features can greatly improve your game experience.

Regarding mail, what do you mean? People sending you mail that you have on /ignore or the other way around? As for the ignore cap, are you talking about the built-in Social window? That's why people recommend the addon SpamThrottle. I haven't used it, but from what I've read on the forums, it allows greater customization of what you want to filter out and far more players to be added to your ignore list than the default UI provides.

There's a big difference between insulting and trolling. If you can't get it you should
