Password reset command?

by darkreignfox » Sun Aug 23, 2015 9:23 am

Hi

I've just recently joined and as there is no authenticator, Id like to update my password to something a bit more complex.

The website doesn't let me do this via my account, but it does indicate there is a password reset command for ingame.

So far I've had no luck getting the reset command to work.

Could you please give me an example of the code / script needed for this or an alternate way to reset my password.

Thanks.

p.s. Is there a limit to the amount of characters / symbols we can use in a password?

Salutations Darkreignfox.

Players can change their password of their client account by using this command in-game. Please note that the password may not exceed 16 characters due to the World of Warcraft client limitations. Please note that we do not recover lost accounts.
Code: Select all
.account password oldpassword newpassword newpassword

Example:
Code: Select all
.account password nb7vmp NP%x9YaA&&j$wLZ= NP%x9YaA&&j$wLZ=

Thanks giving it a go.

Update: Worked brilliant, must admit I didn't realise it had to go into the Chat window, rather than the console command. It might be worth including this information on the main site.

Thanks again for the help. :D
