FPS stuck at 64

by Oyani » Fri Aug 28, 2015 9:27 pm

It started today i noticed that the mouse cursor was twitching a bit while i was playing and so i looked at my FPS counter and it has gotten stuck at exactly 64 permanently.

I used to have 200+fps...

I have checked settings and vsync is off and refresh rate is at 120hz. I have checked my nvidia settings too and global is set to vsync off and max performance and now i'm just going insane.

Could it be because of the server? Because since it crashed earlier today, after that i noticed that it was stuck at 64. And also some other weird bug has appeared that i must now enter my login 3 times because the first two times it disconnects me from server... i really hope that's why but if not then i'll have to try to revert to older graphics drivers and see if it helps as i did update them at the same time today.

Please no troll comments. I genuinly can't play with 64fps, i have been spoilt by 144hz monitors. It's so much more fluent when playing any game.

OK I found the issue, just don't know why it's happening.

When i installed the latest graphics driver i ticked to perform a clean install, so it restored all my nvidia settings to default. This caused my fps to get locked at 64 in WoW.

To fix it i performed a system restore to yesterday, then i installed the new drivers again but this time did not perform a clean install, so it kept my same settings. And now i got the latest nvidia drivers and my fps does not lock at 64 anymore.

This is very very strange as i know for a fact that on my previous drivers i did use the standard default nvidia settings, so it shouldn't matter whether i perform a clean install or not, but i tested it twice and that was the issue..... computers are really f'ing retarded sometimes, at least mine is.
