Multiple players in the same house?

by Healhor » Sat Sep 19, 2015 1:43 am

Quick overview:
Sounds dumb but... Can 2 people play different accounts in the same household without any special requirements?

Reason I'm asking:
So I was talking to someone the other day about how you're not allowed to duel box. Then they said his brother bot banned cuz the two of them were playing and since the ip address was the same, they assumed he was duel boxing. I play with a married couple and would hate for them to get banned for something as stupid as playing in the same house.

The whole thing makes no sense to me but the guy got us all worried.

They would have asked themselves, but they were scared of flagging their account.

That guy is lying to you. He was dual boxing and he got caught.

The GMs do a test if they suspect you to be dual boxing.

Just make sure not to autofollow each other. Make it obvious it's two of you playing at all times.

To be fair the search function kinda sucks, and it took me 10 seconds to write the only response needed to kill the thread and let it fade away, I don't understand how this can piss anyone off.
But then again you're that dude who made a ganker shaming thread and included 3 lvl30s in a zone with highly contested mobs on the list, so common sense probably isn't a part of your thought processes.

Inb4 I get another salty PM followed by an ignore

He did that to you as well Datruth? Ahahaha, this Gotmilk guy should rename to Gotsalt for sure.

Check it out: https://i.gyazo.com/df5c5cff7112f7ceaa4 ... a05a88.png

We could make a thread and ask people to post their Gotsalt private messages with screenshots in it.

Haha yea, I would love to know how many people he did that to aswell

Calling him a carebear in his "Ganker naming and shaming" thread apparently triggered him enough to pm :o

gotmilk0112 wrote:Glad to see you didn't actually read the post, and just assumed "olololol look at this pve CAREBEAR whining about any kind of pvp lolololllllll carebear carebear", because apparently being 1shot by 60s is so much fun and makes you a hardcore "pvper".

The thread is for shaming dishonorable PvP, if you cared to actually read the OP. So you can drop the "lolol pve realm", unless you're going to argue that 60s ganking greys is cool and honorable, and that being wrecked by other players while you're fighting quest mobs is fun.

Note: he included some lvl30 players in shimmering flats on his list aswell. :D

Multiple people playing under the same IP-address is not a problem. A single player controlling multiple characters is a problem. GMs will test suspicious characters - there is no automatic banning for multiboxers. Please remember that if your friend/family member/someone else has to go to the bathroom or put your baby to sleep or run to the corner store, it's better for them to log out of the game instead of using auto-follow while you keep questing and you are not allowed to take control of their character even temporarily, as that is very suspicious behavior when coming from the same IP-address. If something would not work in a normal party, you are not allowed to do it just because it's possibly due to playing in the same physical location.
