Question Concerning Inferno / Infernal

by Marmotmaster » Wed Sep 23, 2015 10:12 am

Hello!

I just have a really fast question i have searched it up and can't seem to find any solid answers from a game master . The terms don't seem to address this situation directly and it leaves me feeling like it may be a sort of grey area.
I would appreciate any response, but what I'm really looking for is confirmation from a game master!

Let's say theoretically one was to drop an infernal on the small town of Goldshire, If the warlock was to sit back and watch this demon tear through a few low level characters and other npc's , Would this be considered griefing ? Obviously it would be an NPC killing these people and NPC's, and it is a game mechanic so there is really no abuse being done, But since griefing is such a broad term , and players are so very sensitive , Could This possibly result in a ban? People are so easily offended and annoyed it just makes me feel like a little bit of fun could turn into a punishment for one unfortunate warlock. I get a lot of mixed answers obviously because some people want to spread disinformation to discourage this sort of thing from happening and scare people into acting right. I hope a game master can clear this up once and for all and let this post stand for other curious individuals .

Thank you for your time!

An equivalent thing happened in westfall at Sentinel Hill. A horde player camped the place for hours, killing all the quest givers, and was eventually told to stop by a GM. He was not banned. The staff said it is generally ok, but just don't shut down a major quest hub for hours.

In any case, Goldshire is usually going to have an alt with a 60 main who logs over and kills it to get it out of the way, so they don't last long anyway. Stitches gets kited there frequently too. I know I've killed them so I could quest on my alt.

Just info. Your mileage may vary.
