Wildjo banned

by Darkx » Thu Oct 01, 2015 4:42 pm

Greetings!
I understand that relying on your administrator rights you do not have to give any further explanation on this decision.
But if you really try to respects your own rules and want to treat your player base with justice I would like the administration to give the exact reason for the ban of our player. A real comprehensible reason and explanation and not just the word “hacking”!
Please tell us what the exact actions are that led to the fact that his account has been banned. Was is the mail interaction with a hacker from Wildjo’s side or was it really him using illegal software?
In case he was actually banned because he was sending lockboxes to a rogue to get them opened and it came out that the rogue was using hacks and our player has been banned as well for some reason, then I must consider the possibility of the fact that any player can get a ban on this server. Even someone who is obeying every single rule. Do you consider this to be fair? How should people be able to play in a calm atmosphere and enjoy the game if they can get banned at any moment without doing anything illegal?
We all are thankful for your efforts and the time you spend to maintain and improve the server and help people enjoy vanilla wow but those people are also spending their personal time playing on your server- Please make the time spent here not become a waste.
I would not have written this post if I wasnt sure about the innosence of the named player.
I hope for a soon answer.
With Kind Regards

I know you would like an official response from a staff member, but I don't think you're going to get another response buddy.

The official response was for "hacking". I'm not aware staff has ever gone into "further explanation" for any ban reason of ths type. The previous thread went off into this opening lockboxes explanation. The GM never said it had anything to do with opening lockboxes.

There are a handful of "guilty by association" permaban threads. You'd have to check if any of those had anything to do with something other than, ultimately, an exchange of gold. I don't think you'll find one. I do not recall anyone being permabanned, by association, for a hack. Key word being- permabanned.

In other words, it's clear the ban for this individual is for hacking...all on their own, without outside influence.

edit: If it in fact turned out this guy was banned because someone he associated with was hacking, well...that wouldn't be a good thing would it. Not at all.

It's pretty obvious from the official response to the first 3 threads on this account that there was some sort of corrabaration between the two parties involving a hack. Obviously it had to do with lockboxes in some way shape or form, since everyone keeps bringing that up right away.
You won't get a detailed clarification on what the exact hack was and how they tracked it. That would only serve to give future hackers more info on how to avoid being caught.
