shift-click playername in custom tab ?

by candyb » Tue Oct 20, 2015 2:49 am

What you see in the image is a custom tab on top and the usual General tab below
http://postimg.org/image/zfykocqdh/

When I alt-click (*1) a name in order to see class, guilds etc, but it only shows up in the General tab and I've no clue really how to view it in a custom made tab.
As you know its possible to V-check which filters you want to view in a chat, and because of the yellow text I assumed it's a System Message, but that's not V-checked in General tab either so i'm really not sure what to make of it.

*1 - also when you invite someone to a group, the same kind of text, which doesn't show up in a custom tab.

It'd be nice if anyone could tell me how I can chose what chat tab to be the first visible one, when I log in.
For some reason it's always the tab furthest to the right. I'd for example want to force General to always first to show.
Even if it's a click away just.

You have to edit the chat-cache.txt in the folder of your character
(\WTF\Account\ACCOUNT\Nostalrius Begins PvP\CHARACTER)

You have to add SYSTEM underMESSAGES like this
where WINDOW x is the number of the tab (combat log included)

WINDOW x
NAME Grp
SIZE 0
COLOR 0 0 0 0
LOCKED 1
DOCKED 4
SHOWN 1

MESSAGES
SYSTEM
SAY
YELL
WHISPER
PARTY
GUILD
CREATURE
CHANNEL
END

CHANNELS
END

ZONECHANNELS 0

END

It will show every system message tho, not just the /who requests

That's great. Thanks!
This kinda solves my second problem, as I now basically have a custom made general-tab that's movable :)
