Unable to get a pet, not sure if bug or what?

Hello there!

I'm not sure if this needs to be submitted as a bug ticket or not, but here goes. I have a level 10 hunter on the PvE realm. I was able to successfully complete the first part of the taming quest, and dismissed the spider. I am on the second part of the quest, taming a nightsaber variant. No matter what type of beast I target with the taming stick, I get "invalid target," including the proper nightsaber stalker. I've logged out, dropped the quest multiple times, and the issue still prevails. Is there a workaround anyone knows of so I can get a pet?

abandon the quest, close the client, delete your WDB folder. That should do the trick.

Thank you so much! Also, seemed that even for part three of the quest I had to do the exact same thing.
