Shadowclaw doesn't know prowl

Hello, I just found and tamed Shadowclaw rare cat spawn in Darkshore. He was prowled as a mob but when I tamed him he turned into a normal cat and did not have the prowl ability (or any abilities at all). Is this expected or is it a bug?
