I am not sure where to put this really but I accidentally deleted black dragon flight molt from my inventory for this quest in Burning steps that i now cannot turn in to get the quest to do BRD. I have tried to go back and pick this up but there is no way to do so.

BoxerBriefly is correct. However, please note that you may kill the 'Frenzied Black Drake' directly outside of the questgiver's cave to obtain another molt.
