Doesn't recognise login details

by Mastodon » Sat Feb 28, 2015 10:17 pm

So I've set up everything. Client, realmlist, etc. Only problem is I can't login because the game doesn't recognise my login details. I'm not entirely sure why, seen as none of it is incorrect and it's all been authenticated. Any ideas?

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me with this. I made a second account, the details of which are also deemed invalid. What am I doing wrong? The realmlist and config are all fine.

Did you click the link in the email that was sent to you when you created the account? How many characters long is your password?

I did. The password is 8 characters long. It's quite baffling.

Some people have reported success by creating a new account. Here's what I would do:

1. Create new account, if you have completely different email address to send it to, try that.
2. Specify a password with the following criteria
    a. Between 8 and 16 characters long.
    b. Contains at least 1 number.
    c. Contains at least 1 Uppercase character.
    d. Contains at least 1 "Special" symbol (ex. !, @, #, $, etc.)
3. Click the link in the email that gets sent to you (if same address as another account created, verify it's the correct email).
4. Make sure realmlist.wtf contains "set realmlist login.nostalrius.org" or "set realmlist login2.nostalrius.org"
5. Make sure config.wtf (in the WTF subfolder) has a line that says "SET realmName "Nostalrius Begins". If there is already a line that says SET realmname "xxxxxx", just change the part in quotes to "Nostalrius Begins".
6. Login should (hopefully) work.

Good luck!

Sorry, still nothing. Thanks anyway. I wish I knew what was going on. Maybe I botched the extraction process? I didn't have WoW installed beforehand and I've never been technically apt, so I may well have put some files where they don't belong.

Anyone else got any ideas? I'm feeling quite hopeless.

Copy/paste the contents of your realmlist.wtf and config.wtf files. Let's see if there's something in there that's stopping it from working.

Through some sort of bizarre miracle, it's finally started working. Just how will be left a mystery, but thanks for the support, Kleigon.

Time for the mighty Mastodon to make his presence known.

Hey, glad to hear it. Sometimes we just get a pass, can't complain about that, lol. Have fun in there!
