Dead entries in friend- and ignorelist

Can't PM anyone, so a thread will have to do.

Basically, I have what looks like a bunch of dead/missing entries in my friendlist, presumably from players who either got banned, or otherwise deleted their character.

It is impossible to remove those players through normal means, they cause issues with the sorting of the friendlist as well (the list is all jumbled up, unless you add or remove someone, which forces a temporary sort on it). Even worse, the online/offline differentiation is also affected by this, which results in online players being somewhere in the middle, mixed up with the offline players.

These "Unknown" players cannot be removed with the corresponding interface option, so I believe the only way this can be fixed is by manually removing the dead entries from the database.

Seriously, this is still an ongoing problem with 3 of my characters that I CANNOT fix myself

So I found a possible solution, courtesy of a guild mate.

Delete all characters from the list (write them down or something).
Then, start fucking around with the list, I'm not sure what method to the madness exists here, but do all of these:

• Add some random person and delete them again
• Click on the "Unknown" entries repeatedly.
• Log out, then quit the game and restart. Do not use the exit game option, actually click on logout and exit the game from the character screen.
• Bring up and close the friendlist window.
• Try to delete the "Unknown" entries repeatedly.

It sounds crazy, but this actually fixed it for me. Just do these in a random order until the problem disappears.
