Streaming and gold donations, hoping for maybe Admin reply.

Hello,

I stream Nostalrius and today two individuals decided to in game mail me gold. I was surprised to see the amounts. One amount was 100g or so, and the other was 420g. The later guy who sent 420g sent in another 420g, for a total of around 1000g combined.

I knew immediately I should hit up a GM, so I did. He advised me not to take it, as the gold selling detection you guys have for the server may accidently ban me. I was wondering if I could get further replies and maybe a response for an Admin who is more familiar with the gold trafficking detection system you guys have on the server.

I of course would love to just take the 1000g in my mailbox, but I don't want to risk getting banned and missing my raids this week.

Any help would be appreciated, as 1000g is a lot of gold, and of course I would like to loot it if possible.

There is no way that you can determine that the gold sent to you wasn't purchased. Therefore, if it does get traced back to be illegally obtained gold, your account could get banned for gold trafficking. Further it would stay banned upon review most likely as well - since this transaction is indistinguishable from buying gold.

It is very dangerous to accept gold from unknown players, and we recommend against it.
