Connection Issues in Raids

by Zalvos » Mon Jan 25, 2016 10:50 am

I am not sure what the recent problem is with my connection, but for the last week or so whenever I step foot into a raid I have a series of lag spikes and disconnections though my internet has no issues and outside the raids I don't have many connection problems (outside a rare lag spike).

My computer is well past being able to handle the WoW client, and I have tried various methods of closing other sources like my browser and chats to see if it improves my situation. Unfortunately it does not.

Just tonight I have decided to do a ZG raid, and tonight has been the absolute worst with the disconnections and lag spikes. To the point that it's a miracle my healing has been sufficient at all with my frantic heal spams to keep up with my fellow raiders.

The only thing i have gathered from other players is that players from American connections tend to have these issues persistently and I was hoping if an administrator could at least tell me if it is a minor issue that is recognized, or if perhaps I am the first with this particular issue.

Otherwise I have been loving the server and hope to stick around.

My Suggestion is that this is not an individual case.

Mostlikely you should check that your RAM (Random Acces Memory) of your computer is fine with all the programms you run.
+its important that your graphic card isnt in use of to many programms (since it got its own core and can get to hot easy)
Aswell you have to check that not to many programms run at same time (for running multiple programms at same time there are CPU-Cores with multiple cores to split the work. even if you got a strong CPU it still doesnt mean that you can run unlimited many programms at once).

I guess you are aware of the things i just typed, it was just ment as headsup.

I noticed myself that the servers of Nostalrius react pretty different to each players location.
Since you mainly have those issues in raids (40 people in the same place going nuts) it possibly is a serverside problem with "sending packages to you". It could be that your connection is good, but at same time its a 'bad reachable' connection due to where the server is standing.

this doesnt explain the real reason but it may helps you to see something you didnt noticed before.
i hope i could help atleast a little.
good luck with solving your problem.
