Possible item duping (seen at the Horde AH)

Hello GM team and fellow players,

I was browsing around and found something peculiar: http://i.imgur.com/Y36iZeG.jpg
Here you can see someone (named Guildcharter) selling six Brutal War Axes of the Monkey (they're also all enchanted +3INT although that's not really conclusive).
The Brutal War axe, as you can see on db.vanillagaming is an uncommon world-drop with a random enchant (among at least 11 possible).

Therefore it is incredibly unlikely that someone would loot 6 of those, yet alone 6 with the same random enchantment (just that is a 5.6447393e-7 chance). This guy isn't selling any other types of war axes either.

The only possible explanation for having 6 identical War Axes, as far as I can tell, is item duping.

I've never heard that was possible and I hope I'm wrong, if anyone can provide an alternative explanation I'd like to hear it. In the mean time I wanted to spread that information on the forum and bring it to the GM's attention.

Another explanation is that something is wrong with the loot table somewhere on the server. Wouldn't be the first time. Seems like a fairly unlikely item to dupe.

I can't think of an explanation for that, and duping wouldn't be the first one that comes to mind either. Why would someone go through all that to dupe something they're trying to sell for 2g?

Maybe because it's inconspicuous, maybe they thought duping high-volume trade items or epic weapons was too much of a risk. Or maybe this (theoretical) duping glitch only works with certain items. Or maybe this was just a first try to see if it worked and wasn't detected.

Good point Tinkertown, it could also be a faulty loot table (like a creature that would only drop that one item instead of shuffling the entire possible loot?) Has this happened in the past? I guess at least a few people would know about this.

Might wanna check the finger section on horde side as well. Namely blood ring and demon band. Seen this bank alt have few pages of those listed at once.
