I agree. Stealth needs to be fixed.

Perhaps an official answer when it will be adressed would put our minds at ease?

On the note of Stealth being bugged. Anyone else getting backstabbed from the front vs Rogue mobs?

Stealth is quite broken atm.
- unstealth on aggro (if that's intended, happy to get the patch where it has been changed?)
- mobs not looking at us before aggro
- aggro seems to happen from a long range, but haven't looked at it in depth

That's how it worked back in the day, except for the mobs looking part. There used to be a range where they'd notice something's wrong but most of the time not spot you, indicating it by stopping and turning towards you.

Aggro ranges and everything was pretty crazy for a loooong time. They were decreased over the expansions. Basically a rogue without 5/5 Master of Deception you couldn't sap mobs in dungeons, as they'd pretty much always detect you before sap range. Feral stealth was such a joke even when talented that everyone would always see you at least for a second before you'd get to them, so super twitch dependant. Not talented you'd be spotted from China.

Pets always aggroing stealthed targets miles away is a serious bug though, and doesn't only go for hunter pets..

If your target were facing you, it's normal to be detected very easily.

you must never have played retail, on nostalrius a mob detects you and you unstealth, this is not blizzlike. on nostalrius mobs will see you and instantly attack you instead of giving fair warning by turning to face you until you come closer, this is not blizzlike.

fix this shit.

Pasting this here from my ingame bugreport, since I can't put everything in that I want to due to character limit. It's another report for mobs not being alerted to a stealthed character before attacking.

NPC's should be alerted to the players presence (but NOT attack) when the player is close to being completely detected. This is similar to the Distract effect (rogue ability); mobs will turn towards the player to let the player know they are close to detecting him/her. If the player comes even closer the mob will attack. This follows regular detection rules, so approaching a mob from the back won't trigger this effect.

Backing out after this will avoid detection altogether, though I am not sure if mobs keep facing the 'new direction' indefinitely or if they will reset their facing after a while. Patrolling mobs will resume their patrols after a while, completely similar to the Distract (ability) effect.

Currently mobs attack right away, there's no 'buffer zone' where they are alerted to your presence before attacking. I would like to see this resolved since Stealth is a CORE mechanic of the rogue class.
