Yes, if another person is playing the character. The main point is that the character is played by someone else than you, which is also why you can't have your main protecting your alt at the same time.

Yeah, you can bring friends and family along to help you if they have a 60, nothing wrong with that. Only YOU can't bring a 60 of your own to help out one of your alts.

Yeah but how can GM check if this is my friend playing another character or me myself? thats the problem...

We are playing from a same flat and have 1 router. so on the exit we both have the same IP.

And for GM it is like 1 man playing to instances of wow from 1 ip.

I am a little bit worry. My friend helps me often just runs after me and kils mobs that i tagged for elite quests for example.

And one we received a whisper: "You are reported for multiboxing..."

WTF!? I have done nothing illegal.

I hope that it is really not illegal. but since that time i am really worried and try to avoid friends help as much as posible...

I'm fairly sure that GM's observe players who're suspected of multiboxing before taking any actions. And it's quite easy to spot the difference between two players playing from the same IP and a multiboxer after all. However I'd restrain from following each other if I were you, even if one of you has to go afk for a while.

It's very easy to detect a true multiboxer versus two friends each playing their own characters. Multiboxers often alt-tab between their WoW.exe instances and control each character separately; if one character starts moving, attacks a mob, then stands still and the other character begins moving, loots the corpse, then stands still and the other character resumes moving again, that's an obvious multiboxer.

Whereas if it's you and your friend playing, both of your characters are going to be moving at the same time. If your friend is a 60, he'll likely chain pull and down mobs consistently while you simultaneously run behind and loot everything; that's behavior not typically exemplified by multiboxers.

VI. Multiboxing
Multiboxing refers to playing multiple characters simultaneously. This can either be achieved by using multiple machines to run the Game or by running multiple instances of the Game. The following rules are not meant to be exhaustive, and using multiple characters to level, farm reputation, run dungeons, do raids and/or engage in PVP is considered Multiboxing. Each case of Multiboxing will be judged individually and thoroughly. There are a few specific situations where you may have two characters in-game simultaneously, *only while both characters are in a major city*:

Transferring items between accounts;
Using professions, as long as no farming or material gathering is involved;
Crafting, enchanting, banking and/or for trading purposes that does not include the Auction House.
Portalling a second account only to and from major cities.
Playing simultaneously on both PvP and PvE realms. *Not restricted to major cities*

The rules clearly say NO. You are not allowed to multibox while using Auction House.

You are allowed to briefly logg two account in a major city for trading, proffession, banking etc, but not using auction house.
