Problem with a Paladin class quest

Greetings,
I've recently reached 20 lvl, thus I decided to go to Cathedral of Light in Stormind and pick a Paladin class quest (Tome of Valor, if I am not mistaken) for levels 20-23. I went to the alone house nearby Deadmines' exit. I talked to the NPC and started the defending phrase. However, I was unsuccessful and poor Miss died. Because I failed the quest, I decided to abandon and re-take it next time I would go to Stormind. And here is the issue... when I enter Cathedral of Light, the quest giver does not have any quests for me, I cannot re-take Tome of Valor from him (the item which starts the quest). Therefore, I cannot start the quest at all.
I am looking forward to some solution to my problem.
