Can't speak in global chat channel

Man you guys must be out of touch with your player base then because this issue has been going on for at very least a week to two weeks with tons of complaining by streamers, regular pvp forum goers and in global chats, even for people such as myself who use very little (ktm threat meter) to no addons...

It is not affecting "a lot of people", I can tell you that.

Another trick that can work is that you leave all chat channels - both by unticking them through the Chat window, as well as typing /leave General /leave Trade /leave LocalDefense and so on for each. Then log out and completely close the client. When you log back in, you can then join the channels you use normally.

If you ever get disconnected from the game, always close the client completely before relogging - otherwise your chat might get messed up.

This solution does not work for me. Every single time I relog, I lose all of my chat channels aside from general/trade/local defense.

Regardless of leaving and rejoining single or all channels, deleting WTF, making sure you actually normally logout and closing application every time you do above, the following problem exists:

Characters are not leaving custom channels on logout/exit and can't join them back normally when they log again ("char already on this channel blablabla") and unable to write in them.
Yes, typing /leave <channelname> then /join <channelname> solves the issue untill next logout/exit but, damn, having to do this constantly every time sucks (especially if you later need to assign certain channel to certain chat tab).

Think this issue came with Emerald Dragons patch
Please fix.

This is exactly what is wrong, as stated before it is a minor thing but very annoying to leave and rejoin the channel everytime you log back in. (sometimes leaving the channel and rejoining doesn't fix it right away and you will have to repeat the process another time)

Or you don't realize that the players you listed probably do not number more than a hundred or two. When we have tens of thousands of players on a weekly basis. I understand that the problem is serious for those people that are affected by it but posting exaggerations and hyperbole do not benefit anyone.

Please post in the Bug Tracker your experiences so that the IsVV team can verify whether the 1.8 patch affected chat channels. It would be of great value to see listed the cases where the usual fixes/workarounds do not help.

this has even started effecting people like me on the PvE, PvP, PTR servers. please fix this.. I made a macro to /leave channel and another to /join channel.
I have even deleted the chat cache file, and yes it DOES fix it, but once I log out, I get this issue all over again...
I get the reply "Player is already in the channel" but I still cant type.
Thank you for taking time to read and fix this issue.

PS - this is not just for world, this is for LookingForGroup, WorldDefense, World, and any custom chat channel I have. the only unaffected channels are General, Trade, & LocalDefense.

I remember when I first joined this server and I got this issue, I tried to ignore it but by the time I got to lv 27 or something I was fed up with it. Recently a friend of mine wanted to play WoW with me so I gave Nostalrius another shot and well the problem still persists, my friend isn't getting it though. It's highly annoying, I guess he will have to play without me.

So, what you do is type /leave general. NOT /leave 1.


If you are in LFG chat and can't type in it, you type /leave lookingforgroup

It will say "left channel" and then a string of numbers.

Dont listen to the morons who tell you to delete addons, WTB WTF folders or login 20 times. Just type /leave and the name of the chat you can't type in.


Then rejoin that chat and you should be good.
