Hex Editing/Transmog

by Beabington » Fri Mar 13, 2015 6:00 pm

Not sure if this falls under the rule of modified clients, but are we allowed to hex edit our gear? It's harmless, but I'd like to know if I'm going to get banned for it if a GM see's me stream with full FM gear.

Thanks for your time.

Pretty sure someone has asked about this before. The admins said not to do it. Atleast, I believe it was on this forum. I would advise against it either way. If you modify gear, you can modify other things in the game (Making walls able to walk through and so forth)

Changing walls and etc, is not hex editing.

It's mpq editing with patches, model editing is also done by doing this.

I didn't say it was done using the same method. I simply stated that if you modify one thing, then what's to stop you from modifying anything else? The method of modification is irrelevant. I'm not saying you would do this. But any modification of the game that wasn't intended in the game, would most likely fall under what you're trying to do.

Okay.

I am just seeking clarification from someone who has authority on this server if it's alright.
