Account Status

Account or connection issues

Account Status

by fallacy » Sat Apr 25, 2015 8:35 am

Hey guys!

Today, when I tried to log in, I got an error message ("Unable to connect"). So I opened my browser and checked for the possible issues that might come with this error. I tried everything I have read about it and I couldn't fix it.

So I guess I may have been banned or I entered a wrong password or something.

It would be nice if I could get some clarification on this!

Edit: Oops forgot to say that my ingame user account name is also: fallacy.

I'm getting the same issue here. I get 'unable to connect' then 'this account has been closed' the second login attempt. I definitely am using the correct details, this seemed to occur after a server dc earlier.

Greetings,

Neither of your accoutns are banned. It must be on your end somehow. Try to re-install WoW.

Kind Regards,

Hey Raazi, thanks for your reply!

I re-installed WoW and I still couldn't login. Same error message. So I entered some passwords I might have used instead of the one I think is the correct one. Now it says 'this account has been closed'.

It is weird, since I played on the server several times with my old installation of WoW Classic. I absolutely have no clue what else I could try :/ .

BTW I will send you a PM with my login data! Could you please confirm if my username + password is correct?

EDIT: Okay I think I found the issue. I updated Avast Antivirus a few days ago. I think it is blocking something now. I stopped it for a few seconds and the "unable to connect" error message disappeared, but my account has been closed now. I would appreachiate if you could unlock it to try to log in again and to check if it is Avast which denied me to log in.

When you try too many passwords in a short amount of time, you receive a temporary ban as a safety precaution. It doesn't last more than 10 or 15 minutes.

The acc still has no bans on it, have you tried to re-instal with the anti-virus paused?

Hey Igen!

Yes I tried that aswell still no changes. I start to get desperate! I have no idea what else I shoudl try.

I created a 2nd account (cxppp) and tried to log in. It worked. Then I logged out and tried to log in with my first account (fallacy) -> "Unable to connect" . Tried to log in with my 2nd account again and it says "This World of Warcraft account has been closed and is no longer available for use".

So the only explanation that I have is that I entered the wrong password on my 1st account and then get a mini ban not only for that account but for my IP. Else I have no clue why I wouldn't be able to log in with my 2nd account again.

EDIT: I am going to send you a PM with the login data of my first account. I would apreachiate if you could confirm if I am entering the correct password.
