These login issues are ridiculous and unnecessary

As a professional team of developers composed of 16 people, with an active and supportive fanbase well into the thousands, you should know better than to leave such easily fixed issues; unfixed. It has been 3+ hours, and the only thing staff has pointed out is that it was a trivial issue. Login servers are NOT a hard or complicated issue to resolve. The login system is basic coding, and you don't exactly need a big server to run such simple tasks. If there is nothing wrong with the MAIN SERVERS, and only problems with the minor servers that are there to simply log people in, then that's absurd that we as a playerbase must wait more than an hour to see results of repair, or at least some kind of ETA as to when it will be done.

I love this server and it's community, but I'm disappointed. If such trivial and minor issues cause such inconvenience, what's going to happen when real/major issues ensue? 12+ hours downtime, I'm guessing?

Every game has its downtime, and yes even Blizzard had it's fair share of downtime.
Even in vanilla I guess that is why they threw around +1 / +3 free days of game time like it was candy.

Yes there were in the start a lot of things that could cause the server to crash. and as you might know most of these are solved since the amount of crashes has been reduced greatly.
this is the first time if I recall correctly that a issue like this happened and also for issues like these steps are taken and will be taken to prevent it from happening again.

we are dealing with machines and people both can fail at some point in time.

Do you really think Nost's staff is up 24/7, catering to the server's needs 24 hours a day?

Also nobody on the team is paid, and the team is spread out across the world, so your bitching is harder to put into actual practice.

Keep in mind all staff (myself included) are unpaid volunteers. Outside of Nostalrius we have jobs, school, life and other commitments. We also live around the world. We do the best we can. As a staff member and a player I understand your frustration and simply ask that you please be patient when issues come up... as they will from time to time.

People like OP forget this server is run by a handful of volunteers who are uncompensated for their work and are spread out across the world while their product operates 24/7/365. This is a free service. It isn't a paid product that has a multi-million dollar corporation backing it and a dedicated staff on standby day and night to tackle problems. If we were paying for this, it'd be a different story, but this is entirely free and volunteer-driven.
