Taming the beast for hunter class not working

Hello. The quest Taming the beast for the hunter class is still not working.

I followed the instructions here, abandoned my quest, deleted the interface, WDB and WTF folder, accepted the quest again and went back to the beach several times, but it still gives me the error message: "invalid target"

Normally i would just abandon the quest altogether and just do another quest, but this one is special because only when i complete it (if i remember this correctly) will i be able to get my own pet.

So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you are doing the wrong crab... the ones in the north or far south are the ones you want.

Unless you are alliance, then carry on.

Just did it yesterday : after completing the 1st taming quest, it considers the pet as yours until you disconnect - and prevents you from taming the next one.
What i did to go on : tame the 1st one (boar), validate the quest at npc, disconnect/ login, take the 2nd quest, tame the crab, validate, disconnect / login and so on

I did these quests last week, ran into a problem where after I tamed the first beast, it's name plate changed to green and was friendly but just stood still on the ground, unmoving and wouldn't follow me. I also didn't get the pet portrait under my character portrait in the upper, left corner of the screen. I was still able to turn in the quest and get the next chain but couldn't tame any additional beasts; kept saying I was already in control of one.

I did like Nacht said, simply logged out and logged back in again and it "reset" my pet info. I was then able to tame the next beast and complete the second chain. Lather, rinse, and repeat until finished.

After 25 tries on the scorpid, I found this post here. I abandon quest, disconnected, deleted WDB folder, logged in took the quest and it worked.

BUT I think this is a bloody workaround for people that don't know much about wow in the first place. Must be possible to fix it IMO.
