ITEM BUG - Dagger of Eternal Darkness proc removed

From June 24th 2015 on, the Proc rate of the Dagger of Eternal Darkness has dropped to 0% on mine and several other characters.

Furthermore, after clearing the itemcache, a guild member saw the weapon simply as epic and not with a green proc text, I could not recreate this though.

After a discussion with a GM i understand a patch was installed that morning, the proc may have been removed.

This bug affects most Boomkins, mages and warlocks as the item is Best In Slot for these classes.

Your guildmate is correct the item is ... not very epic atm it has nothing but base damage and 1.5 speed atm...
When clearing itemcache (WDB folder) make sure you clear the one in game and the one in your "appdata" folder...

Technically the bug does not affect boomkins mages and warlocks since the item should be shit for them, and should have an ability that reads "Use: Deals 100 Shadow damage and restores 100 mana to
you." and its definitely not bis for the above classes...

The fact that it is or is not BiS (although, it is) does not change the fact that it is broken.

2. It scales with spellpower and Curse of Shadows. Its value is Higher than Ogre magi For a Frost bolt Mage, Not even including the Off-hand.

3. Yea.. it's BIS Raid wise. Dungeons probably not.


1 spell power = 0.8143 dmg
1% crit = (for me with current spellpower 9.3 Sp)

Value of Ogre magi Staff = Currently is about 24.3 SP.

Now, the proc in Raid hits for 230 With COS up which should have a 100% up time. The proc rate of BOED is 10%

Frost bolt Value is 0.8143 dmg per 1 sp. For mages it is currently BIS

Having the proc itself was broken, since at our current patch the item should have a different effect.
What the guy above you meant is that if the item was not broken and had its proper on use effect, it would not be BiS, thus not affecting warlocks / mages all that much.
