Which FAQs were you reading? If you clicked the FAQs at the top of the website, that's for use of the forums, not the actual in-game or Nostalrius policies.
Character restoration policy is covered in both the Terms of Use and FAQs posted in the
Announcements forum.

You may not purchase, sell, gift, share or trade any account, or offer to purchase, sell, gift, share or trade any account, and any such attempt shall be made null and void.
As a reminder, a Nostalrius staff member will never ask you for your account name nor password. Please, never share your login information. We will not recover characters, equipment or gold from a shared account. Never delete your character "by accident".
