Quests Rewarded Incorrect Items

by DrearyYew » Tue Jul 07, 2015 9:28 am

So, I had completed 2 quests recently, "General Drakkisath's Demise", and "In Dreams". For the first one, I wanted Blackhand's Breadth and selected it, but upon completion, for some reason, I was given Mark of Tyranny, the tank trinket (that is pretty awful to be honest). This happened about a month ago, and I didn't think much of it at the time since I planned on going Holy, so I ended up just forgetting about it.

Now the other day, I went to complete my "In Dreams" quest for the Mark of Fordring neck. Prior to this and after the completion of "General Drakkisath's Demise" I had decided to go Ret in the end. However, upon completion of this quest, I selected the Mark of Fordring, and instead received Fordring's Seal, the healing ring. This made me pretty angry, and it reminded me of the mishap with the "General Drakkisath's Demise" quest that led to me not being able to receive the proper selection.

I believe this was likely the fault of some sort of addon, so I have disabled all addons until I can figure out what caused it. Although I suppose there is a chance there was a server hiccup that resulted in myself receiving the incorrect reward. If there is any way I can be properly compensated (as in, have these items that I didn't select removed from my bags/bank and replaced with the items I did select) it would be greatly appreciated. I know the policy is that decisions for item rewards for quests won't be intervened on since it was the players decision, but it wasn't my decision to select these items. Something went wrong somewhere and I received the wrong items.

Thanks in advance,

Sadly Nostalrius doesn't deal with issues that involves changing/recovering items unless it meets a certain criteria. The issue you're experiencing is probably caused by an faulty addon and if you confirm that it isn't, then please go to the bugtracker and report it accordingly.

Epic raid items can be restored in the case of a server crash/roll-back, providing a message is sent to us which fulfills the following conditions:

Exact date of the raid;
Screenshot of the raid ID;
Screenshot of the loot & Full list of raid members;
Name of the player who received the item.

Thanks for the reply.

I imagine if it were an addon problem, they could just tell me "lol nope sorry" but I still think that would be a pretty douchey thing to do, especially since Blizz would restore items in a situation like this in Vanilla, as would they for similar situations like accidentally DE'd items. Hell, even if I did misclick (which I didn't, I made absolute damn sure, at least on the second quest) Blizz would restore the items.

I'm trying to replicate the problem on an alt by taking screenshots of my quest reward selection and what i actually get rewarded without any addons enabled. I haven't had much time to do this however since I have mostly been on my main. I'll report back here if I can get it to happen again, this time with screenshots.
