perma banned?

my lvl 20 friend (char name biyazhi) was perma banned with the explanation " manipulation of known glitch/bug" but he doesnt know what glitch or bug that would be. he doesnt even know of any glitches or bugs. when he asked a gm to explain it the gm said the explanation that was given is enough and that his case wont be reviewed. he also has a lvl 30. is this how you ban people? without telling them what they did so they dont do it again in the future? i think if you perm ban someone they deserve a proper explanation.

People have been banned for doing that if they abuse a bug which allows them to farm more than five instances per hour.

Ah, so it wasn't farming dusty tomes that got him banned, but rather somehow exploiting the 5 instance/hr limit to get more than that.

That make sense as it'd probably strain the server.

maybe im crazy but i think if someone does something worthy of a perma ban they deserve to know what they did. he was a level 20 hunter.. what on earth could he have done ? at least a warning first..

I think the one banned should ask the GM's, not his friend.

It is a matter between Nostalrius / GMs and the banned player, and GM's are not obligated to share information to 3rd part. In fact I would be pissed if other people started to gather information about me that way.

And that means we can guess and guess what really happened, but it is up to the banned to contact the staff if he want.

Yeah it's really strange to me when you see all these threads that are like "my FRIEND got banned and he doesn't know why" ... then why isn't he on here asking about it himself?

well he did message them about it but all they said was "the explanation given was enough" and all the explanation said was "manipulation of known glitch/bug" im not petitioning for my friend to get his account back or to tell us what he did that was wrong im just saying that if we get banned we should be told exactly what we did that was wrong so we dont do it again because he doesnt know what he was banned for.

Your friend clearly knows what he did wrong if he isn't wasting his time with appealing it here.
