This is handled very poorly. Because too hard for "Select * From PlayerInventory (nolock) where ....." ---- SQL query. and delete it right?


Announcing at 2:00am US times when US players are asleep but will miss the announcement and get banned.

Putting it on twitter but not on the GAME FORUM.

by this logic - we should have deleted the ZG rep neck. Not everybody played this 11 years ago. 95% of player base doesn't even have a forum account. But I've learned today, any quest item, you better do 45 minutes of reading to know if you are allowed to have it. Impossible, no. Improbable, yes.


TL;DR it's deleted - legs, vendored - boots, and this ban threat is something special.

Wonder what I'll be threatened with via Twitter and a game announcement when I go to bed tonight.

ps: I'm pretty understanding of bugs, crashes, lag and don't complain. But ToU threat 11k+ people for a bugged quest giver is retarded. I land in Silithus accept all quest and complete ones that have a ? on them. Keep in mind that quest from Darnasses send you to Silithis, and people can easily assume the turn in was for being sent here or having the rep.

PS I ticketed a GM about this a few days ago, was told to delete the items, and I did so.

I second this.

Deleting all the items, reseting the quest status (to allow player to complete it again afterwards) and withdrawing the reputation gain from it would be plenty enough, I don't really see the point of having to delete them yourself, not to have to notify if you vendored it.

It's probable many people won't do any of that and will get banned in the next few days, sadly . Just because they don't follow Nostalrius on Twitter, don't read the forums enough (or at all), and didn't pay attention when getting the items / thought it was another quest or whatever.

I didn't accept the quest items to begin with (knowing full well this is the Roman'khan reward step), but I will say this. Test your god-damn patches before applying them.
It's the same thing everytime. With the ore/herb node hotfix, you make immediate respawns, release that to the live server, and then people themselves are the ones who are tasked with deleting them, reporting them or face a ban.


All of this, on top of you banning people randomly like you did me for 'gold trafficking' under false charges, and not even issuing an apology after you're shown how wrong you are, like any mildly dignified staff would do, makes the entire project reek of amateurism and improvisation.

Woulda never noticed this was bannable untill a guildie said somthing, this shoulda coulda woulda been handled better if you can. all we can do is take pity on those who don't use fourms / Twitter and people who aren't nocturnal enough to be on 2am EST (Rip sexy tank and pants... Yeah, that's the smart thing to do. Really not very difficult.
