Thank you for the quick reply!

I can understand that and will wait for him to get back to me, I just wanted to make sure I had done the correct thing, since the other admin (Daemon) was mentioned in a a couple of other posts :)

Best regards,

Igen I believe I may have been banned today under similar circumstances (which is totally untrue) if you could please refer me to where to appeal as well. My account name is stewy77.

Hi Stewy,
I would advice you to make a new thread specifically for your own case. It seems like that this is the preferred way of doing it here. I had good success in doing that: Within less than an hour of making my own post, a GM replied in the thread and sent me a PM with a some information about how to proceed from there.

It's not funny being forced to go on WoW-vacation for a few days, but if that's the price we have to pay for a server without cheating and a fair review of the false positives caught by the anti cheating measures, then so be it. Good luck!

There's no formal system for appeals but most people handle them through private messages here on the forums. You have to make at least one public post on the forums (Like this one you just made) before you can send a private message to someone. Now that you have, you can message one of the staff if you have account-related concerns.

Re: Banned account?

Now I have waited 4x24 hours for a reply from an admin, which feels like a lot to somebody with more than 20 days /played in the servers relatively short life

I know this much so far: My account has been banned because it is believed, that I have bought gold for real money. Is it possible to simple have whatever amount I'm am suspected of having bought subtracted from my in game balance while I wait until an admin has time to review my case?

As explained above, I mostly play as a trader/tradeskiller. After having racked my brain and discussed with guild mates, I can come up with a couple of trades which could look suspicious, and I would be very happy to explain those to a GM/admin. Even summing the value of all "suspect" trades I can think of would amount to less than 20% of my current balance, so being able to actually play the game would (not surprisingly) be worth much more to me. Of course this is also an indicator that I have not in fact bought any gold (why would an already rich guy whose enjoyment comes from earning gold go and buy a bit more gold through illegitimate means?), but right now I'd be happy if I could just be allowed to play :)

With the increased measures against botting/multiboxing and cheating in general, it is natural to expect a larger number of false positives and people who don't understand why they have been banned. Could it be an idea to have a GM act as an arbiter of appeals? The idea would be that the GM would ask relevant questions of the "accused" and then if the dispute seems reasonable send the prepared "case" on to the admin. This could save some time for the admins, who are understandably very busy.

Zzzz, why would you do that if you're not even guilty? Bullshit.

Exactly. I'd much rather be able to play without whatever amount of gold it is believed I have bought, than just sit around waiting. I can just get the gold back once the admins get around to looking at my case.

EDIT: So while sitting around waiting, I took a look at who this SanderP guy might be. Much to my amusement, you actually caught my trade chat advertisement from a couple of weeks ago in a screenshot Image from your post about a ninja looter :D Azeroth is a small world!

If they start such shady deals, they would be stupid in general. And if I get banned for gold buying, tho I did nothing wrong, I will not offer my gold for such nonsense, unban me completely or don't, but don't come up with such "I kinda did it, take my gold as excuse =)" stuff.

Who are "they" here?

I did not "kind of do" anything wrong, but I am "kind of annoyed" about not being able to play. As I said above, I have sent money as loans to guild mates(/real life friends) and I have sold some enchants for quite a lot of money. This could very well be picked up by automated anti cheating measures, since it looks weird for a lvl 45 char (even though the character has more than 20 days of /played).

You might be content to wait for many days or simply accept that they "don't" unban you, if you were in my situation. I'm however itching to get back in the game and thus I try to find a way to do just that.
