id like an admin to respond not a user tho i know what you mean but as i stated he got that link and saved it in a macro to check it out at a later date but then he diddent see it was there when he made the macro to ask for a mage to tp him to darnassus its the only explenation i got

becouse lets be real a lvl 10 spamming gold selling sites, when you unlock Trade Chat at lvl 5.

He made a misstake and for that reason i feel that this should go out in a warning one more time and hes out, i mean i wouldent go to there lenths if i diddent feel that its wrong. i diddent go to these lenghts when höly got his acc banned for flyhack. witch as far as i know of dosent work on vanilla and i dont want to know as i hate cheats and stuff like that.

just so you guys get some context to what i mean i would ban my friends and family if they used hack if i host a server ie a minecraft server. it has happend and i banned them for it.

so Admin and game masters of this server please reconsider this ban this is an appeal that im makeing for him as he has given up on this server and id like to prove to him that this server is nice i know his acc name is immature but if you dont like it then update ur registration form.

i have been on this server not for so long but i can see that this will only bring bad rep and you will lose some good players that can help make this server grow bigger.

morno wrote:maybe next time you guys should send an email to the account about the reason of the closure and not just outright close it. im gonna leave the server with my friends im sorry it had to go this way as this server is well made but the support and with no clue why some accounts are closed/banned its uneasy allot of players are in fear of haveing there account closed or banned some just stop playing as they dont want to invest allot of time in there char and then poof gone.

Witcher did an excellent job explaining it, but just in case it didn't sink in the first time, this is a private service operated by a private group; they are under no obligation to send notifications or e-mails when an account is suspended or banned, especially when it's noted and thoroughly outlined in their Terms of Use. Your "friend" would be wise to read up on said terms so he would know what to expect when playing on someone else's server.

And please spare us the hyperbole; players are not in fear of having their accounts closed or banned. Over six thousand users log on and actively play on Nostalrius every day without ever being banned or having their accounts closed. Now, if you mean players who violate the rules are in fear of having their accounts closed, then yes, they should, and rightfully so. If that what it boils down to then they should most definitely cease playing and move on.

morno wrote:i hope you can forward this message to the other admins/game masters i feel you guys got allot to work on and i hope that you guys work on it or this server will die quick.

Nostalrius started with around five thousand active players and has since grown to 6.5 thousand. Trust me when I say this server isn't going to die quickly from the actions taken by the staff.

morno wrote:it wasent intentional then. and there are ppl who are spamming trade chat with that gold selling crap still. please make it so that the account email gets a email explaining what had happen as my cousin diddent know what had happen and was upset.

Whether his chat spamming was intentional or not is irrelevant. As defined many, many times throughout the site, players are solely responsible for their own accounts. All safeguards must be taken up by the account owner. If your "friend" let someone else on his account who spammed chat or used a macro that had advertising sites embedded in it falls squarely on him, no one else. It is his fault. Period.

Players who continue to spam chat channels and advertise gold sites are promptly dealt with as they are reported and brought to the staff's attention. Just because you see others advertising gold sites doesn't mean your "friend" is off the hook. As for the e-mail, again, see Witcher's post or the comment above.

morno wrote:i dont know if he did link a url in that message if he did he prob took at existing macro and had that url to the gold selling site there and forgot to delete it.

dont ask me why he had it i dont know hes only 15 and we all can make misstakes but i hope that you guys can somehow unban him as he liked his rogue and for once picked a ok name compared to what he usally picks.

See above. It is still his responsibility to ensure the macro he's using complies with the server rules. Yes, we all make mistakes but we all must also own up to our mistakes as well. If your "friend" liked his rogue that much, it's all the more reason he should've taken more measures to ensure he wasn't doing anything that might've resulted in action being taken against his account.

morno wrote:becouse lets be real a lvl 10 spamming gold selling sites, when you unlock Trade Chat at lvl 5.

Doesn't matter if it's a level 5 or level 60; advertising gold sites is simply against the rules, plain and simple.

morno wrote:He made a misstake and for that reason i feel that this should go out in a warning one more time and hes out, i mean i wouldent go to there lenths if i diddent feel that its wrong.

Sanctions are clearly laid out in the terms of use; advertising gold sites, whether intentional or not, is a permanent ban. Knowing that ahead of time would have been super helpful for your "friend." Now both of you can keep that in mind moving forward.

morno wrote:just so you guys get some context to what i mean i would ban my friends and family if they used hack if i host a server ie a minecraft server. it has happend and i banned them for it.

What you would or would not do to players who hack on your own private server is entirely your business but ultimately has no impact on what the staff decides to do here.

morno wrote:so Admin and game masters of this server please reconsider this ban this is an appeal that im makeing for him as he has given up on this server and id like to prove to him that this server is nice i know his acc name is immature but if you dont like it then update ur registration form.

This server is nice. The staff kindly allows those who violate the rules to reroll another account and keep playing if they wish. In fact, they actively encourage it. If your "friend" liked his level 10 that much and enjoyed playing here, he shouldn't have a problem creating a new account and leveling another rogue again; getting to level 10 is not that hard.

The server's already growing bigger as evidenced by the active players spanning the past few months. Trust me, nobody's worried about losing good, quality players. If anything, the server's at risk of losing players who deceive, hack, and cheat, in which case, is more than acceptable for most people here.

All of this being said, we will truly miss you. Yes, out of the 6.5 thousand players on Nostalrius, the one random forum account that insisted on making a goodbye thread in wake of a banning is the player we'll cherish the most. Godspeed, bro.
