My brother has sound on 10074, looks like something broke recently.

Could we have a list of games? I haven't had any sound issues with any others. Looks like it might be related to this specific fmod version though.

yep, I have the same problem, I'm also running win 10 TP and I have no sound in the game.
I've tried disabling audio enhancements, playing with bit ratio of audio devices etc. nothing helps so far. :(

Looks like we might just be screwed until the next build. :/

Windows 10 isn't a finished product, and the Nostalrius game client is essentially the same as the vanilla one from 2006. The loss of ingame sound is due to the latest Windows 10 build. Compatibility issues has always been happening with old games, I suggest that you run the game as Administrator and in compatibility mode for Windows 7, if that doesn't work. Try Windows XP (Service pack 2 or 3)
I don't use windows 10 myself so this feature might not even exist yet.

This is a wild guess, it might work, it might not.

I just tried both those ideas, they didn't work for me :/
I just saw a feedback about this on the Windows Feedback app : go to "Hardware, Devices, and Drivers" and then in "Audio, sound, and volume" and search "No sound with games" it should be in the top list.

Upvoting this problem would get the developpers to get an eye on it earlier.

This issue is not caused by the Nostalrius server or the World of Warcraft client. It's caused by an update in Windows 10, which has caused the loss of sound in a large variety of games. Nostalrius developers won't be able to fix this issue, nor should they if they could. The fault is at Microsoft, therefore please go to the link bellow and talk to the Microsoft support, which are the people that might know how to do a temporary fix or a permanent one.

I found a fix that works for me on Windows 10 Build 10130.

Follow the directions at this post: http://us.battle.net/en/forum/topic/17605344350#9

Adapt the paths to your WoW 1.12.1 install.
