Everything seems legit here... There is no reason not to help them getting their loot.. Or do i miss something? Seems like its more about the time they need to spend doing it than the real issue. I assume you can easily check if they get their loot or not, just to be sure they are not scamming.

We can not understand why a server restart is carried out without prior warning. We are now the morons who are empty-handed and do not even get an answer as well.

Would be sweet to at least get a "we cannot do this because [list of good reasons]"

Frankly, solving loot issues where the players are not at fault should be a priority. The ONLY reason that I can think of that would make not doing it acceptable is if determination is impossible. (And then I'd strongly suggest making it possible.)
