Clearly some issues arise when leaving/joining new zone channels.
What I've gotten to work when I can't see and/or type in the certain channel I type /leave <channel name>
Ex: /leave general and then rejoin that channel.

EDIT: channel name, not channel code

No, that's not working.

Try /leave or /join general

This happens when you copypaste WTF folder. Go to WTF folder and delete every chat-cache you can find and possibly chat addon files from SavedVariables.

That has fixed it for me when I couldn't see world channel. Remember to close any open WoW's since the files are regenerated on close.

If that doesn't help, it's not same issue I've encountered.

Edit: If you have lazypig, turn of player's spam in settings.

I do not have any "chat cache".

sorry to necro, but i ran into a similar (not identical) problem.

Go to WTF -> Nostalrius Begins -> char name ->

Delete chat-cache.txt

fixed it for me; you have to completely re-do your Chat Tabs, but it's better than nothing
