"World of Warcraft has stopped working"

Account or connection issues

Yea, I've done more maintenance on my computer right now trying to get this to work than I have in a while. At least my computer got the updates it needed in the process. But I agree, until a computer geek or admin hits this thread I don't think I'm going to get to experience Nostalrius. I'll give it a couple days to see if anyone can help my issue, but if not, I'll just look elsewhere and concede. Thanks for your help along the way, Diametra.

For anyone struggling with this error. Please use the following to fix the issue.

First, exit all running applications, if any.
Then press Windows Key + R to open the "Run" prompt.
Type “AppData” and click OK.
Open the following folder:

..\Local\Temp
Select all files in that folder and delete them.

If any files are unable to close, attempt to fix the issue but "Skip" if unable.

Next, we have to change your DEP settings. Right click Computer desktop icon.
Select Properties.
Click “Advanced system settings” link on the left.
Click Advanced tab, and Settings button under Performance category.
Click Data Execution Prevention tab.
Select the option “Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select”.
Apply these changes and exit the window.

Restart your computer to let these settings apply and save.

On the next startup, go to your WoW Classic folder, or whatever your Nostalrius folder is titled, and open it. Run "WoW.exe" as administrator.

These are the steps I took that allowed me to overcome this issue. Hopefully this is a fix for everyone struggling with this problem.

Feel free to lock this thread, or pin it to help others.
