What if I make an addon that automates fishing but I only use it while I'm at my computer physically watching it automate the task? From the answers above it would seem that, that would be ok since I am at my computer

It would be yes. However I'm 99.9% sure that it is impossible. What API call would you use instead of physically clicking the bobber? I'm fairly confident there is no such call.

There also are no unprotected call to cast spells or move.

What is left is more or less trading, ah, chat, a few minor gameplay functions e.g removing buffs, switching gear, accepting summons/resses/invites.

My spontaneuos guess would be that only the AH and trading is in real danger of getting you bot banned. Just because of the sheer number of people that that would have to ban if they went for chat or minor gameplay in even a semi-consistent manner. It would obviously be better if they made actual rules, rather than pointing to the antibotting rules, so that we wouldn't have to consider what will be enforced rather than what is against the rules.

Ah well. At least we know we will not get banned for botting unless afk.
