Thank you Kraft for your response. If I understood well, I can quest with 2 char at the same time but in different areas (which means they can't with each other) ? That's what I was asking in my first post, I usally did this for "save" time travel. I auto run on an account to travel ashenvale with one char and I kill mobs in arathi or somewhere else with my other char. Whiche means, (to use your words) do each zone once for each char, and not use one to help the other.

I think I did untderstand the ToU about multi-boxing, and I totally agree with it. Thing is, is it considered as multi-boxing to play 2 char that can't interact with each other (I mean by not being in the same area at the same time for example) ?

Play one and only one for a good while and switch. I would assume playing the other during flight is the only other exception on switching to the other toon. From what I read, they don't want the two toons to level simultaneously. So afk one and level the other, then vice versa. I would just keep one in an inn/city until what I said is confirmed.

Hi there,

Thank you Uzephi for you answer, I 'm now sure that I won't try to play 2 acc at the same time. I don't want to get banned :)

I still don't understand why this isn't allowed (playing 2 char simultaneously but not interacting one with an other) but we have to follow the rules (as illogical they can be :p)....

Cya !

Kraft wrote:Your IP switching might get you investigated as potential account or gold trader, but it is not something you have to worry about if you're a regular player. Regarding multibox, you should never have 2 characters even near each other unless they're inside a town or city, where they can trade/buff, but not much else. We keep banning accounts for multiboxing, with users telling us they didn't read the rules or know it was bannable; this isn't a defense, and we've made every attempt to have it spelled out in both the Terms+FAQ. You can use the second one in town for bank storage, but if you want to quest both, you must do each zone twice, once per character. You can switch them out in the town(Inns gives rested btw), but they should not quest or fight together. For BGs, you should never queue with more than 1 character at a time. You must decide which character you wish to fight on, and play that one.

Which still doesn't answer the question whether or not you can quest with two characters at the same time in completely different zones. You seem to assume that they're questing together or for some other reason are close to one another "...you should never have 2 characters even near each other unless they're inside a town or city, where they can trade/buff...", "...but they should not quest or fight together." which isn't the case of the question. So the information you're giving is quite vague and not particularly relevant.

Example.
Character A is flying to Searing Gorge
Character B is in Durotar
Character B is killing boars and turns in the quest
Character A arrives in Searing Gorge and kills some spiders then alt-tabs to Character B who continues to kill some scorpid workers while Character A is still afking in Searing Gorge, the player now switches to Character A again and continues to kill some spiders while Character B is afking in the valley of trials...

Ok or not?

The staff here seems to have a REAL communication barrier. They've posted about several things being "extremely clear in the ToU" only to have it not be in the ToU at all, and maybe vaguely spelled out in the FAQ.

We shouldn't have to investigate 2 different threads to get all the rules, and the rules shouldn't change on a per person basis.

From a technical standpoint, I think this server is being run fantastically, but on a rules management level, it needs a lot of work.

As long one of the characters remain in a major city you are OK to multibox.
So questing on both chars at the same time is not permitted.

Hi there,

Thank you Ohgr, you're the only one who did understand my point. We still don't have a clear answer about this but keeping hope :), at least it could be nice to know why is this isn't allowed ?

@CapnPrat : I think this can be very hard to handle a server with such a big population. Back in the days, during Nostalrius Beta we were 100 connected top on best days and I guess Nost staff isn't really used to this kind of pop management. Moreover, it can be difficult to predict every single case and hard to deal with it when you have to deal with cheaters/exploiters/bugs to correct....

@Mimma : If you're right about this, this means the answmer is clear. I still wonder why this rule exists ?
