Your account has been closed for use of botting. I have yet to see a successful appeal when an account has been closed for this reason.

Nostalrius doesn't actually listen to appeals, you're guilty until proven guilty here. Even though there has been a revolving door of staff who clearly cannot adequately perform the job yet when players can offers a real world explanation for why the staff may have made a mistake (hey it happens to us all) they won't listen. It's just unfortunate that while the staff are banning actual botters/hackers/cheaters they also catch innocent players.

They do sometimes listen to appeals... it's just that people dont post successful appeals on the forum as much as the ones who are banned wrongly.

Like there was a user named Thompz (forum name and ingame name) who was banned wrongly, and the GMs and one of the admins (Daemon) reviewed his case and unbanned him.

OP hopefully the GM who banned you can re-look your case and hopefully unban you, because based on what you describe, definitely doesn't sound you were using any forbidden programs

Greetings,

This will be the last post I make in regards to this matter. I want to be as transparent about my decision as possible. Firstly, I was the one who confirmed the use of botting. Additionally:

** EDITED by Viper

I cannot stress this enough. We do not sanction without good reason, especially when a permanent sanction is required. That's not to say we are 100 percent mistake-free. But in this case, the sanction was definitely justified.

Sometimes, it gets hard to tell whether the OP is telling the truth or not, as they can lie so well.

Thanks for the detailed explanation so the doubts are dispelled

I'm just amazed at how fast someone can be deemed a bot. But w/e, I didn't have high hopes to begin with considering I haven't seen a successful appeal; must have missed the Thompz guy, glad he got his account back.

To the people like Norm & Shigs, believe what you will. I doubt anything could change your minds about people coming to this section for help.

99% of ban appeals for botting are cheaters making a horribly bad attempt at BSing their way out of a ban they justly deserve. Come on, do you really expect everyone else to believe you were banned OUT OF NOWHERE for killing 4-5 mobs? Seriously? That is such a load of crap. It's right up there with the "my girlfriend/roommate/friend/dog" line of excuses from people banned for multiboxing and autofollows.

Play the game like everyone else next time, stop being lazy (lazy WoW is that way-->), and quit insulting everyone else's intelligence.

Viper, you should have left Aerbax's explanation in there :D

So when people read this thread, they can see the full reason why the OP was banned, and not think it is completely the GM's fault (he had his justifications).

This.

If someone is banned, put it out there so everyone knows. So everyone can see. Who cares? They were in the wrong. Let others know that you had legitimate evidence ans that the ban was well-deserved.

I'm curious what else Aerbax had to say about it.

Seconded. I don't understand why the reason needs hiding.
