I don't have much experience with it, but maybe you could try running a pathping to see if there's data loss between your computer, your ISP, and the Nostalrius server?

From what I've gathered across the forums, you will want to pathping login.nostalrius.org unless if others note otherwise.

Packet loss seems to be pretty severe, if I'm understanding these results correctly.

What kind of results do you get? And what might we be able to do to address this?

I get similar results. I get a 100% packet loss around the sixth or seventh hop but my game's not choppy or slow. The hop it shows the loss from is somewhere in Canada. Unfortunately I'm not an expert with this so maybe we'll need another set of eyes to help interpret it.

I have exactly the same problem as Samwise. When I turn around it looks very choppy, I have intel i5 2500k CPU. Tried everything, downloading a new client and disabling addons etc, using the console. When I play TBC server I don't have this problem, only with 1.12 regardless of what server it is. Anyone have any ideas? This is ruining my vanilla experience.....also have a lot lower fps in 1.12 than TBC.

I'd like to give my input on this.

1) This happens with every 1.12.1 client. It is a flaw in the game engine. To my knowledge, it has nothing to do with latency or packet loss. I must have tried atleast 5 servers and each one behaved the same.

2) This issue was resolved with the release of TBC. Blizzard made numerous changes to the graphics engine between Vanilla and TBC.

3) The tweaks in my smoothness guide can help a little bit, but the issue can not be fully remedied.

Trust me, I wish there was a way. I have to deal with this too.

I think it has to do with what kind of CPU you have as well. My friends computer don't have this problem in 1.12. Tried it on that computer and we use the same settings. Maybe it works if I overclock my i5? The problem I think is that 1.12 only can utilize one core, and I guess TBC is better in this regard. But I'm by no means an expert, just know that many people can play 1.12 flawlessly, what do you think? Tried changing the settings in console for CPU as you did in your guide but noticed no difference whatsoever.
