It depends of the problem ongoing on the server, I think that no one can guarantee anything at the moment.
Expects further communications in this post, and in the meantime go doing something else (e.g. soon I'm out for dinner) and come back later

I was online just barely long enough to loot a respawn I'd been waiting for, and then it crashed again.

It's usually not down for this long after a crash -- it's usually more like 5 minutes. I think taking a meal break is a good plan for this one.
