Calling it now that they will nerf this in some outlandish way in the near future.

They will also make sure frost mages can't farm Zulian Tigers / Zulian Crocolisks for coins and bijous by either a) removing them from the loot table. b) making them immune to slow

Hell, may as well also call that they will nerf Naxxramas trash farming for trash epics.

Bump - we need official confirmation that farming the DM East lashers is not an exploit, even if doing so with hundreds of instance resets.

Doesn't matter, if its their whim to ban people they will so don't waste your time to use any logical argument.

To be clear once again, our Terms of Use defines sanctions for exploiters, that we actually apply. However, players that play the game in the way it is meant to be played don't have to worry. Yes, you can still gather veins / herbs without any problem.

Nothing subjective to the individual whatsoever

I like how the community gets this phase after a ban wave over something they know was wrong.

It's not a logical argument to see how the whip lashers have the correct stats, non-elite, and the loot table doesn't ruin the market since we're barely getting any herbs every 5 runs. Greens, yeah, but nothing good. Blues and epics ... 2 epics out of my 28.5k kills.

why are you comparing DM east to the ooze nodes....?

Anyway as it stands no one is safe from any type of "industrial farming" because "in the way it is meant to be played" can be interpreted differently from player to player.

Dire Maul East farming isn't a bannable offense. Until it is.

This is a gray area, just like Tribute for hunters was. It was not bugged and working as intended, however too many people did the "clever use of game mechanics" to make thousands of gold.

I'm sure if you ask a gm in game if it's bannable to farm DM east, you would get a response like the hunters got
"We are not banning for X at this time, however we are looking into this issue."

And a few weeks later, with a sufficient amount of queries in-game like that they would most likely alter the game to prevent it being possible to farm this way if they think the gold gain is high enough. They will never ban people for this.

Tribute was working as it should for patch 1.5 (splitpulling bosses was only fixed in 1.8), thus no bans given out, but the encounter was altered.

TL;DR - No ban threat on this; Lashers might be changed to prevent this farm at some point. (If the GM's stay consistent with their problem solving methods)

Why are you guys even wondering about this?
You will never get banned solely for farming on an "industrial level". It's only bannable if whatever you're farming involves exploiting a bug, obvious example being the veins in silithus with fixed spawn points when they should be random.
Lasher farming doesn't involve any kind of bug abuse, so no, you obviously won't get banned for it.
