Still can't access character list on PvP server.... it's monday the 18th january and it's the only time this issue ever occured, so I guess they are working on it. But I still don't know what to do with myself in the meantime... 
I identify as a High DPS Retribution Paladin. Take me into your raid or else I will call you classist and ableist and bigoted and go write a long, out-of-breath rant on Twitter blaming my choice of class on the evil warriorarchy and rogue culture.

I have been stuck at the "retrieving character list" as well. The issue started yesterday at around 6pm (-8 gmt)

just straight disconnects me on the login now but can get on PvE server
