I'm fairly confident Forceberg, anonymousguildie and Björnbuse never set foot on the bugtracker site.
I also heard of a guy who had used the same addons for the past 6 months.

I haven't managed to isolate any leak yet, the only common denominator, really, is Nostalrius.

locking the account to one IP address unfortunately excludes 90% of all players from germany and other countries with a daily IP address change :/

True. IP lock won't work for everybody, but it's still a huge upgrade for the ones that it does, which I believe would be the majority.
Not saying it's perfect, of course, but it would be a great start on the road to improved (existing...) account security.

The thing is, if Nost's login server was compromised, then all accounts would be compromised. All would have been hacked, not a select few. I still think it is someone using the same login as elsewhere as that is one of the easiest ways to phish login information. Another easy way would be an email with a bogus link or site with a bogus link...

I can guarantee you, a 100% , that the site suffered an SQL injection some days ago that moment the site was going down every 10 minutes. It'll be a while before this is found out and even longer before the devs admit this even happen, but it'll happen and I'll bump this post :D

100% with OP.

Please try to help out your members by for example safety backups of the database you could refer to and check the say gearstatus of a character 2-4 weeks ago.

please nostalrius id even pay for that little extra security.

when it comes to appeals... everyone immediately goes to "it's your fault"
well considering I am pretty damn careful... and I haven't been hacked from other servers... why is it suddenly me? I really am starting to Think Nostalrius is at fault here... they should at least lift my Ban, so i can change my password... I'm the victim, not the other way around...
