That's a bug on this server, you should be able to shoot through that first tree too. I've gathered screenshots from my leveling journey of different objects that still have LoS too but that shouldn't have it. Will make a report soon.

Now, if we all agree that this is a blizzard-design-decision (cause as today, they havent' changed this, yet), we should also think about the fact that blizzard has a WHOLE TEAM in charge of "game-design/mechanics/class-balance".
If their "game-design team" hasn't changed this from 2004 to the present day (and I believe this argument was already brought up and discussed countless times on their forums) I really believe that behind their decision there is a way-deeper explanation.
Their "game-design team" has way more data than you-all-together to make a "good" decision about this. Unseen class-balancing implications might be the selling point about how they choose to keep LoS disabled there.

Their design team triumphantly continues to fail at balancing pvp and not noticing problems a casual pvper can see and suggest kind of decent fixes for. I wouldn't bet anything on their balancing skills.

Newer bgs have more los features, probably because casters pretty much don't have to cast any more.

Considering _all_ ranged classes but druids and shamans have either pet options or strong dots in vanilla (or both) and druids and shamans have ways to slow or immobilize you, the latter two would lose the most out of making everything los, especially shamans because of their inexistant mobility and lack of proper dots in vanilla. They might be the only reason why los is so bad, but without changing the class there's really no ways to fix it.

Yes, but melee gotta have it easy...even if this never made it on retail.
For melees (fuck?) sake, we gotta reintroduce this non-blizzlike/mangos-bug ASAP.

Also seems to be a lot of circlejerking, probably a bunch from the same guild. The very very vast majority isn't complaining/whining on the forums about wanting to re-introduce a BUG.

Take a good look at yourself, accept the situation & move on.

I'm a warlock and only found this topic because I killed a warrior hiding behind a tree trying to LoS me to get out of combat and destroyed him. Non LoS objects takes every modicum of skill out of warsong gulch and world pvp. Positioning is now completely useless. The only reason why you'd want this to remain is that you're a class that takes advantage of this, ie: a mage, warlock or hunter.

You think people have to be from the same guild to agree on a subject that should be changed?

Take a good look at yourself, you actually want this shitty feature to remain unchanged. You don't understand the ramifications this will have later down the road. It's bad for the servers longevity.

That warrior was me.... Well at least I died by spellcaster while hiding behind tree
Was good to have you all
