Error: Unable to connect.

Hi!

New player here. Downloaded your client, and installed. Did all the steps correctly, I'm quite sure. But I still cannot connect.

When I enter my correct username/passw, I get "Unable to Connect" error.
When I enter incorrect passw, but correct username, I get "this account has been closed" error.

Any solutions for this?

We're seeing an awful lot of these lately. I think we all need to put some time in and dig down to understand what is causing the problem.

Other folks who have reported this problem either say...woops, my bad...was using wrong password, or never let us know what eventually fixed their problem if anything.

Here is the only different answer I have seen so far:

I don't know man , if i check the remember account name , log in and log back out and then only write my password i get "unable to connect" , if i write the account manually it works so wtf... tried this a few times just now. I guess whatever

that makes me think he had saved the wrong name to start with. Who knows. We should keep looking.

found it again:

I got some time to play right now and I've done some tests to see from which setting the problem appears and the problematic line from all that is:
CODE: SELECT ALL
SET accountName "deathkneel"
THAT is the damn problem ...
So if you don't check the remember account name box and write your account name everytime you log in it works. Somehow the server does not recognize the account names if they are stored by our wows .
As it would be nice if the devs would fix this , for now just type your account name everytime you log in and don't check the remember box xd .

But that doesn't explain people who have reinstalled and still can't get it to work....but it's a start.

I ALWAYS write my account and password manually. I never save the acc name

Whoa, talk about necroing and old thread.

What's this about the "Remember account name" checkbox, Diametra? I'll play with it when I get some time to see if I can recreate any problems and add it to my sticky.

I have the same issue but always manually type my info with no luck
