Hello.
Unexpectedly, I get an error when starting the game. This has not happened before. Any ideas how to fix this?

This can be caused by many different things.

From the "...READ BEFORE YOU POST" thread, try this

11. Error 132: Right click on wow.exe. Select> troubleshoot compatibility. Select> try recommended settings. Select> start the Program.

Thanks, but it didn't work out. I probably have to download the whole thing again.

This most likely is a issue with your GPU driver. - A downgrade might help. (Direct X Issue)

But before you downgrade your GPU and stuff try this:

- Open World of Warcraft/ WTF folder
- Open "config.wtf" with Editor or Editor+
- Change: SET gxApi "D3D11" to SET gxApi "D3D9"
- save settings & start WoW

Should fix the DirectX assigened to WoW.

I installed the game again but it didn't work.
There were no "SET gxApi "D3D11" in the config.wtf file. Why?
I'm trying to search for clues in file: /appdata/local/virtualstore/program files(x86)/world of warcraf classic
I even started a virus scan. I'm beginning to lose hope.

If you can't find that "SET gxAPI..." in the config, simply add it and save.

Alrighty then. Tried that, did not work.
BUT
My quick virus scan is progressing. It's at 23% and has already detected 100 infected files.
Oh dear.

That could indeed be many things. Three things that come to mind are: another file interfering with your WoW.exe or possibly bad sectors on your hard drive or faulty memory/RAM. Do you get similar errors when running other programs or games? You can also try installing the 1.12.1 game client to another location other than C:\Program Files (x86).

I have not seen anything this serious on my PC for three years of usage.
The game worked fine yesterday. I installed this one RP-addon, but deleted it after this problem occurred.
Just now I got 140 infected game-related files(malware) removed. Still nothing works, for example Spotify seized to work among other programs. Installing the game to another drive won't help. I have no idea what might be the cause of this error. Everything should be fine. The viruses must have broken something.

I have decided to reset my PC to factory settings. I'll save everything important on a cloud storage and try WoW again after this operation. A shame it came to this, my guild needs me!
