Nostalrius Begins - Quality wow vanilla realm (1.12)

The quest itself is bugged so like a good troll I am I just spent 10 minutes firing the cannon out of fun. In that time horde hunter came on board and fell dead. Thought it was weird but I didn't pay much attention until a night elf hunter came on board too (I am still firing the cannon like a bored maniac I am) and he died too...weird I know but the weired thing is that I got a honorable kill for his death and I never even touched him.

Is the gun on deck glitched to instagib anything that aint on the quest?
