Scamming Question

by Rogue223 » Mon May 18, 2015 8:30 pm

I have a question, not sure if this is the right area to post. But I was just scammed in game. I tried to post a ticket and that didn't work. The person who scammed me basically said tough luck and that this server is "blizz like" and no one gives a ***** about scamming. So is this true? You can just scam people and there is no penalty? Sorry I am new to this server but I am just wondering going forward. I remember on blizzard retail vanilla servers you could not scam people. Thanks in advance.

Basically you need proof that you were scammed and then it's blizzlike that you get refunded and the guy gets banned in the harshest cases.
Good trade text would be like:
"I will give you 4xLarge Brilliand Shards and 2 Righteougs Orbs and you enchant crusader on my weapon. Do you agree?" -
"I agree".
Then the tradewindow and the "trade complete" notification. And then you are good to go when somebody scams you they will interfere.

It depends on the type of scam and whether there's sufficient evidence to substantiate it.

From what I remember, Blizzard didn't honor requests to handle alleged scams unless there was documented proof of the scammed transaction. Something about how you and the other party had to agree in chat about the terms of what was being traded/exchanged so that, in the event of a scam, one could provide screenshots/documentation so Blizzard could review the transaction logs. Same with raids and all the master looter drama.

I know the Nostalrius staff acts on staff impersonation scams where they're stealing people's gold via C.O.D. mails from fake and unofficial names. Other than that, I'm not sure what other measures they take.
