Memory Editing to improve/fix FOV

by PlsDontHurtMe » Wed May 20, 2015 4:02 am

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to inquire as to whether I would receive a suspension or perhaps even banishment were I to manipulate the 1.12.1 client to increase the FOV using memory editing. I would like to get in contact with an admin to discuss the exact method through which I would go about this, and show that neither the method nor the intent are malicious in any way.

Looking forward to a response,
                                       PlsDontHurtMe

Edit: Mistakenly wrote draw distance when I meant to write FOV, was reading about draw distance and must have had a brain fart. Noticed and corrected.

Every game modification is forbidden and can potentially lead to a permanent ban.
It includes for example:
- wow.exe code modification
- memory editing
- code injection
- API hooks
- data files alteration (mpq)
- ...

Out of curiosity, does hex editing the .dbc item cache files to change an item visual model (known as model swapping), for ex, changing the random grey weapon you found while leveling to a cool weapon you love the appearance of, but have like 0.5% of ever looting it, count as a hack of some sort?

Unless the cheat / hack / bots detection automatically ban people who also 'temper' with item cache files (with which I don't think you can much more than model swapping armors and weapons, kinda like transmogrification, except it alters ALL the people using one item, they would ALL have the new appearance, but ONLY CLIENT SIDE, it doesn't do anything to the server).

I hope not, but if that's the price to pay for a quality server without all the fucking botters and cheaters, then so be it! :P
This is a signature until I can bypass that damned 502 ERROR when I put an IMG tag in my sig and try to submit it.
