Improved Ambush crit chance

i was wondering if something isnt right with improved ambush in the rogue sub tree, i tested it alot of times and the crit chance seems to be a lot more less than 45%, from around 100 ambushes (tested from lvl 24-27) i had around 23-24 crits where instead it should be around 50 (taking into account the passive crit chance of 7%) , i know its involved around luck but with so many trials it cant be just luck, something just doesn't feel right and i hope to get some help on this as it feels like 3 points wasted
